Booked Blue Coyote for hubby's birthday, quiet meal just the 2 of us. Quiet Wed night. Greeted by abrupt young waiter. Fine after this, ordered meal, got drinks. Starter fine, not great. Main meals arrived, however we both ordered shredded beef, we got chicken. Burritos and Chimichanga. Sent them back. Waited 20 minutes for new food to arrive. How disappointing, the beef was in chunks/thick strips and was VERY bad quality. Refried beans tasted burnt, how I imagine eating a cigarette must taste! I gave in chewing half way through and left it, my hubby persevered. By the end he had bits of uneaten beef round half the rim of the bowl. we did complain, and in the end only paid for drinks, but such a huge disappointment really. Especially since I had booked a lovely bistro and hubby changed mind at last minute. In the past we have waited 45 minutes for a table which we had infact booked. We have also has very rude staff. We feel we have given it so many chances, probably as we both love Mexican food and there are no more in Newcastle. Will never go back and would not reccomend, even to my worst enemy!

I would NOT return to Blue Coyote. Poor selection on menu. Loud and noisy atmosphere. Waiters blatantly ignored us all evening and did not seem too busy as they found ample time to chat to the waitresses and each other. Food was disgusting and overpriced. Blue coyote poses as a real restaurant but is really a glorified weatherspoons with painful prices. You leave feeling ripped off and with bad indigestion. Not worth it. Mights as well go to pizza hut for better value for money

Went to the restaurant on a Wednesday night at about 9pm and sat at a table without a smile or a greeting from the waitress. We were then told abruptly to order within ten minutes as the kitchen was closing. The kitchen is open and we saw the chefs moan and complain as our cheque was sent in and the food came very quick making us feel very rushed through our meal. The starter of BBQ chicken wings was ok but not worth the 6 it cost, there was hardly any meat on them. For our main course we ordered the fajita combo, 25 for chewy meat that had no flavour whatsoever and was watery as the chef had sprinkled water on the before sending out, something which we could clearly see agaion through the open kitchen. This made the tortillas go soggy. The sour cream etc provided with the meal was hard and disgusting as though it had been in the fridge for days, revolution do a far better wrap for 5! There was only enough meat for two wraps each, absolutely ridiculous for two people at 25. The waitress was very unhelpful and the whole time I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. Would never visit here again, a total let down to our previous visit which was lovely. Would not recommend anyone visit as it was disgraceful. The only benefit was that we didn't actually have to pay, but our evening was ruined as by the time we left the place everywhere else was closed.
